NEW #WINDOWGALLERIES SHOWS

We have two fascinating exhibitions currently on display in the #WindowGalleries along Friars Entry, Oxford!

Call of the Silent Cell is a new short film by artist duo boredomresearch that explores links between our human and environmental health by taking viewers on a journey through a forest with an old man who encounters a storm not of air but of cells and their signals, revealing an immune system in overdrive.

If you are passing by the #WindowGalleries after dark, you will be able to watch the film as a live projection! Call of the Silent Cell is part of the One Cell At A Time online exhibition, which uses creative projects and artwork to explore the research of the Human Cell Atlas. You can view the full exhibition here until 30th November.
Also on display in the windows at the moment is More-Than-Human World by artist Eiko Soga, which is one of three Eiko Soga exhibitions currently on around Oxford. Each show is part of TORCH's Humanities Cultural Programme, Japan Season. More information here.

In More-Than-Human World Soga presents photographs that were taken during her time in Hokkaido, Japan learning Ainu elders' wisdom and way of life. Soga's research-led art projects, question how the practice of art can embody and share ‘felt knowledge’ of the more-than-human world. ⠀

Both shows will be in the #WindowGalleries until the 30th November - why not drop by when you're next out and about?!

Deadline to have your say: 30 Nov 2021

Museum of Colour would like your help selecting items for their upcoming exhibition These Things Matter!⠀

This exhibition will investigate the ideas and relationships that maintained systems of empire and slavery, exhibiting items of emotional control from the Bodleian Libraries' collections. ⠀

They invite you to take their exhibition item survey, in which you will learn about a number of items related to empire and emotional control, and be able to select the final five that you think should feature in the exhibition.
