AIATSIS Indigenous Art Market returns - November 26th
The AIATSIS Indigenous Art Market has grown to become the largest Indigenous art market in the region showcasing a diverse range of paintings, textiles, sculptures and much more with 100% of sales going back to Indigenous Art Centres, artists and their communities. This year we have curated a selection of artworks from Established and Emerging Artists along 30 other Indigenous owned Art Centres and Independent artists.
A warm welcome to our two new staff members: Cassandra Stewart (picture above) is our new Art Worker, and Georges Bureau is our new Studio Coordinator. We look forward to a successful journey with both!
Iltja Ntjarra's Chairman, Mervyn Rubuntja, has welcomed his Warumungu relative Kevron Foster (Acacia Hills School, Alice Springs) who came to the Iltja Ntjarra Art Centre to learn about the work in an Art Centre as part of his School Leaver Employment Program.
This month, we saw the Lhere Mparntwe (Todd River) flowing again. Iltja Ntjarra Director Selma Coulthard, took us to a trip to the river, to share stories about Country and enjoy this rare event (photo credit: Cassandra Stewart/ Iltja Ntjarra Many Hands Art Centre).
