POTENTIAL TRAFFIC IMPACTS RELATED TO CONSTRUCTION 
OF 16@95 IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS 
Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will close interstate lanes and ramp at the locations below for the 16@95 Improvement Projects, which will widen I-16 and reconstruct the I-16/I-95 Interchange. The lane and ramp closures are necessary for widening activities for I-16 and work on the new I-16/I-95 Interchange bridges. Monday, November 22, 2021, through Tuesday, November 23, 2021, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Daily)
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
  • I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to the I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157) 

Monday, November 22, 2021, through Tuesday, November 23, 2021, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Daily)
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
  • I-16 eastbound from the I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157) to Dean Forest Road (MP 160)
Nighttime Closures

Monday, November 22, 2021, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
  • I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to the I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157) 
  • I-16 eastbound from the I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157) to Dean Forest Road (MP 160)
  • I-516 eastbound at the I-16 Interchange from MP 6 to MP 5  
  • I-516 westbound at the I-16 Interchange from MP 5 to MP 6  

Tuesday, November 23, 2021, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
  •  I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to the I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157) 
  • I-16 eastbound from the I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157) to Dean Forest Road (MP 160)
  • I-516 eastbound at the I-16 Interchange from MP 6 to MP 5  
  • I-516 westbound at the I-16 Interchange from MP 5 to MP 6 

Nighttime Closures and Detours 

Monday, November 22, 2021, through Tuesday, November 23, 2021, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Nightly)
  • I-516 eastbound to I-16 eastbound ramp (Exit 164B)
    Motorists traveling on I-516 eastbound should take the I-16 westbound ramp (Exit 5, I-16 towards Macon), then exit at Chatham Parkway (Exit 162), turn right off the ramp, then turn left to access I-16 eastbound.
Holiday work restrictions will be in place beginning Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 5 a.m. until Monday, November 29, 2021, at 11 p.m. No lane closures or work that restricts or interferes with traffic will be conducted during this timeframe.
ADVISORY: Exact time may change due to weather conditions. There may be intermittent traffic pacing and lane and ramp closures that occur within the work zone in addition to this notice. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers.
