Along with the rest of society, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to drastic changes in the way many people with disabilities live, work, and access the community. The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the urgency to take on the task of addressing health disparities, inaccessibility, ableism, and focus on moving away from segregated settings in all aspects of life. This webinar will feature a diverse panel of people with disabilities, family members, direct support professionals, and advocates reflecting on the lessons they have learned during the pandemic.
Panelists will share how COVID-19 has impacted their lives, their personal vision for the future, and how policy and practice can move systems to be person-centered. The panel will discuss their perspective on the “normal” life that many in the non-disabled community seek to return to, and how that “new normal” can be inclusive of people with disabilities.
