Please do not blow leaves and debris into the Lake!

We have heard that some lake-side residents or their landscapers have been blowing leaves and lawn debris from their yards into the Lake. The PLPA would like to remind you that this adds detrimental amounts of nutrients to the lake and is actually illegal according to the NH DES. Excessive organic matter encourages algal blooms and chemical imbalance in the Lake. The nutrients in those leaves are actually needed by the trees in your woods to grow and to produce leaves in future years.

PLEASE TELL YOUR LANDSCAPERS TO STOP BLOWING LEAVES INTO THE LAKE!

Ours is not the only lake blessed with loons in New Hampshire. As members and supporters of the Loon Preservation Committee, we encourage you to visit their website ( https://www.loon.org/ ) to learn more about loons and LPCs efforts and help others in the area enjoy the treasures we have here on Pleasant Lake.
