Let’s wrap up 2021 with GeoBeer #35

Hi all!

2021 is slowly coming to an end and it seems that it will not really be a happy ending:

Covid-19 is still with us,
COP26 in Glasgow was rather disappointing and
@shapefiIe has sent over 8'000 tweets since the beginning of its existence 😱

Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to hold GeoBeer events in our usual setup since a while – *sigh*. But be assured, we do have a number of great sponsors lining up and they are eager to get going again with physical events. Until then, we'd rather forego physical meetings until the situation improves and large gatherings are safe for everybody involved.

Let’s hope for a better situation in spring 2022! Meanwhile, the three of us would like to ask everyone to get vaccinated, to encourage others to get vaccinated, and to listen to, watch, and support, science-based journalism at its best, such as:

We do miss the GeoBeer community a lot and maybe you miss it, too? Why don’t we conquer our Zoom-fatigue one more time and meet for a final GeoBeer for 2021!

GeoBeer #35 – again a virtual edition – is scheduled for Friday, December, 10, starting at 18:30. If you’d like to take part, please register (attendance is free, of course):

We’ll meet online on Zoom, start our event with lightning talks (soon to be announced) and follow through with chats in cozy virtual breakout rooms. Please update your Zoom client to at least version 5.3.0 (info) so that breakout rooms work smoothly.
