During this Thanksgiving season, the PTSA would like to express our gratitude for everything each of you has done to help get this school year off to a good start, and help support our staff and students. The PTSA currently has 334 members comprised of 195 adults, 70 students, and 69 staff members. Additionally, our Whirlie Way Campaign has raised $12,634 to date. Despite the many challenges our community has experienced over the past two years I continue to be humbled by each of you who take the time to join, donate, and volunteer! I have never been prouder to be a part of the Whirlie family...and for that I am grateful!

Meningococcal Conjugate (MCV) Vaccine Deadline is November 30th
The extended deadline for 12th graders to get their required Meningococcal Conjugate (MCV) vaccine is November 30th. Twelfth grade students will not be allowed to return to school without MCV immunization. Cone Health is hosting a clinic on November 29th from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Northeast High School.
To schedule an appointment with Cone Health, please call 336-709-6689.
Appointments are not required but are strongly encouraged. If you have health insurance, please have this information readily available when scheduling an appointment.
Please also remember to bring your child’s immunization records and proof of insurance, if available, to your appointment.

Disney’s Frozen Jr. - December 2-4
The Grimsley Playmasters and the Southeast Playmasters will present Disney’s Frozen Jr. in the Grimsley Auditorium December 2nd-4th at 7 p.m.. We invite everyone to come out to this wonderful family-friendly performance. This is the first ever collaboration between these two high schools, and it’s sure to be a treat! Black Jeopardy Game Night
The African American History Club is having our Black Jeopardy game night, using questions about Black history. This event will take place November 30th in the Computer Lab at 4:30!
Guilford Apprenticeship Program
The Guilford Apprenticeship Partners (GAP) application process is in full swing! GAP open houses will begin the week after Thanksgiving with Ziehl-Abegg, Machine Specialties, Berkshire, and Cross holding open houses that week. All GAP applicants are required to attend at least one open house, with a parent or guardian, but are encouraged to attend as many as possible. Students can visit gapnc.org to find the schedule for GAP open houses, or can pick up a copy in the main office, in counseling, or with Mrs. Rock in the Media Center. Open Houses are scheduled December through January. Be on the lookout for information on an upcoming Grimsley GAP Company Meet and Greet event the week of December 6th during lunch and fourth period in the cafeteria.
Grimsley National Honor Society Applications
Attention Juniors and Seniors interested in joining the Grimsley National Honor Society: applications will available to download from the Grimsley National Honor Society website on December 1st.
Applications are due to either Ms. Allen or Mr. Darden no later than December 15th at 5:00 p.m.

Holiday Wreaths
The Grimsley High School Orchestra is selling beautiful Fraser Fir wreaths, straight from the mountains of Sparta, NC. Orders must be received and paid for by Monday, November 29th. You can purchase one from any orchestra student or pick up an order form from the Main Office.

FAFSA Night
Save the date for November 29th or November 30th from 5:30 – 7:30 in the cafeteria as we will host a FASFA Night with representatives to assist our students and families with completing their financial aid applications. More details to come!
College Recommendation Deadline – December 1st
The deadline for contacting your counselor and adding them to college recommendations with a due date of January 1st is December 1st.
Counselors will not be working on college applications over the Winter break so make sure you have communicated any requests you have by December 1st.

Class of 2022 Important Dates and Info
SAT Dates - December 4th, March 12th, May 7th, and June 4th
January 26th - Panoramic picture to be taken during homeroom in the Gym.
Week of February 7th - Cap and Gown pictures will be taken in the Auxiliary Gym during English Classes.
March 1st - ACT testing day for Juniors. This is another great day for a college visit.
March 3rd - Cap and Gown picture retakes.
June 1st - Graduation Practice - 9 a.m.
June 3rd - Graduation - 3 p.m.
