The religious rulers of Jesus’ day didn’t always get along. The pharisees and sadducees; the elders and chief priests; the scribes and the Herodians—each had their own agenda and allegiances.

But they all had the same enemy—Jesus.

Before their common hatred of Jesus, some of these groups would never have worked together. But they found a common purpose in discrediting Jesus in the eyes of the public.

And in Mark 12 we see their bold and brazen attempts to disgrace Jesus and vilify Him. But Jesus was well aware of all of their traps. In His wisdom, He addresses the heart of the matter and the heart of the asker. Watch or listen to our study in Mark 12:12-44 and learn how Jesus turned these traps into opportunities to teach.

Join us for an evening of worship with special musical guest Pastor Bill Welsh. Pastor Bill is a dear friend of the fellowship, an incredible musician, and has a heart for leading others into a deeper intimacy with Jesus.

Read Ahead!

Our ministry is very simple ministry. Every Sunday morning, we go through the Bible chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. We pick up where we left off from the week before (Lord willing).

We work though the word this way so that you can study ahead. It gives you an opportunity to read and study the portion during the week that we’ll be going though on a Sunday. Then on Sundays, you’ll get that much more out of our time together.

We encourage everyone to have some sort of intentional effort to read through the entirety of the scriptures on your own (Three and One is a great way to do this). Read through the Bible. Talk to Jesus before (and after) you study. Look at what the text says, consider what it means, and find ways to apply what you’ve read to your life. Then ask God to help you walk it out by the power of the Holy Spirit.

God wants your heart.

He doesn’t desire automaton obedience, or a willingness to go to the penalty box when you mess up. You can do that without having a relationship with God.

He wants YOU.

He wants to walk in fellowship with You. He wants to walk in love with you where obedience and sacrifice aren’t even on the forefront of your mind. He desires a fellowship of love, because love fulfills the law. Loving God and loving your neighbor—on these two hang all the law and the prophets (Matthew 22:40).

Jesus wants genuine worshippers with no agenda other than simply loving the Lord and loving neighbors out of the overflow of fellowship with Him.

Are you trying to earn His favor? Are you making vain attempts to garner His affection? Stop—there is nothing you can to do that could make Jesus love you any more than He does right now. Come to Him. Walk with Him. Abide in Him. Love Him with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. Then enjoy fellowship with Him now and for all eternity.
