New resource: Chemicals guidance document

On October 27, GGHH launched its Chemicals guidance document, an exciting new resource exclusive for members of the network. Developed by sustainability experts, this guide is designed to support health care institutions in addressing the most pressing challenges they face related to hazardous chemical use.

The GGHH Chemicals guidance document provides strategies and best practices for the identification and labeling of chemicals as well as the identification of safer alternatives for substitution. It includes a comprehensive list of priority chemicals and materials of concern in health care along with guidelines on how to handle or replace them. This compilation of strategies, advice and real world examples all serve the objective of protecting the health of patients, staff, visitors, and the community from the impacts of hazardous chemicals.
