Hello SAA Families,

Wow! What a wild weather weekend! Due to possible record-breaking Skagit River highs, and many road closures in our county, we have made the decision to close school tomorrow, Tuesday, November 16. We have been asked by the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management to close so that roadways can be more clear for emergency service personnel. We’d rather err on the side of caution for all of our families. We’ve received many phone calls, and had early pickups today; many of our families have been impacted by the flooding, downed power lines, and downed trees already. Please be safe today and tomorrow while you are on the roads.

Your child’s teachers are already making plans for tomorrow’s school work. This will be considered an e-Day so we don’t have to make it up at the end of the year. Your child will have work to do tomorrow. Lower elementary students will be sent home worksheets. Grades 5-12 will need to log in to Jupiter to see what assignments need to be completed. Please do not hesitate to ask your child’s teachers any questions you might have.

We are praying for all our school families and our local communities that are affected by this storm and flooding. We also want to remember our emergency service personnel that are responding to so many calls. Let’s keep them in our prayers.

In His Service,
Aubrey Fautheree
