Mary Beth Meehan uses photography to transform public spaces, works collaboratively to reflect communities back to themselves, and aims to jolt people into considering one another anew. Combining image, text, and large-scale public installation, Meehan’s work challenges notions of representation, visibility, and equity, and prompts people to talk with one another about what they see. Zine-making Workshop with Dani Capistrano
Mon. Nov 15, 6:30-8pm

Friedman Hall 202
"Join us for an evening of zine-making guided by Daniela “Dani” Capistrano (she/they), artist and founder of the POC Zine Project. Since 2010, the POC Zine Project (@poczineproject on Twitter and IG) has been working “to make all zines by people of color easy to find, distribute, and share.” In this workshop, Dani will give a brief overview of the zine medium and will guide participants in the creation of their own zine. This will be a hybrid event with in person and remote accessible participation options. All identities and levels of zine experience are welcome. Co-sponsored by the Brown Center for Students of Color and the Sarah Doyle Center for Women and Gender."
