You could design the 2022 LRSEF Virtual Fair T-shirt!

This year we’re asking students to help us design the LRSEF 2022 Virtual Fair t-shirt. Show off your creativity, and your design could be chosen as the next official fair t-shirt, which is given to all students who register and are approved for the LRSEF 2022 Virtual Fair on March 5! The winner will also receive 2 t-shirts in their choice of size.
▶ Review the full contest rules and submit your t-shirt design by Saturday, January 15, 2022 for your chance to win.

Teachers: Amazon Equipment Grant Deadline Approaching

LRSEF is committed to increasing the science fair participation of under-represented minority and low-income students. To boost science fair participation for these students, LRSEF is awarding up to 10 school grants to purchase science fair supplies and equipment.

LRSEF was awarded an Amazon grant from the Kentucky Science & Engineering Fair to make these equipment grants possible. The equipment purchased from the grant should be used for student research by under-represented minority and low-income students with the goal of having your students present at LRSEF.

The deadline to apply is Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

Now Accepting Amazon Student Grant Applications

Continuing from last year, middle and high school students who are part of an under-represented minority or are on free-and-reduced lunch can apply for up to $100 in student research grants. These student grants are separate from the larger school grant described above.

The deadline to apply is December 17, 2021.

Needed: Diverse Science and Engineering Speakers

This year, LRSEF is continuing our Diversity in STEM speaker series. Speakers will be presenting at schools with large African American and Latinx populations, so we are looking for scientists and engineers of similar backgrounds.

We are looking for speakers in any STEM field, including biology, physics, chemistry, computer science, food science, environmental science, and engineering. Our goal is to inspire young students to pursue their passion in STEM careers and make the world a better place for all.

If you are interested in speaking, please complete the Diversity in STEM Speaker Interest Form

We're here to help!

The goal of LRSEF's Educational Outreach Committee is to support teachers and students in their science fair endeavors. Feel free to contact us if you need help starting a project, starting a science fair program at your school, or any other topics related to student research.
