A Two-Part Video Series

This two-part video series was produced in partnership by Luckiamute Watershed Council, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and Polk Soil & Water Conservation District, with additional funding support from Benton Soil & Water Conservation District and Willamette Habitat Restoration Fund. The series was filmed, edited and produced by Grahame Bywater.

The knowledge and practices shared in this series can be applied to many different landscapes within the Willamette Valley, and the concepts adapted on an even broader scale. Watch the short videos to learn what Traditional Ecological Knowledge refers to and how you can apply its principles to your landscape management.

Wildfire Wednesday Webinars

A Series from OSU Extension Fire Program

Wednesdays, 11/10, 11/17, 12/1 and 12/8

This series, which began in the spring of 2021, continues this fall with four webinars covering a range of topics to help you prepare for the next wildfire season.
The next webinar is scheduled for November 17 and will cover Home Hardening: specific recommendations from experts to enhance the survivability of your home in case of an approaching wildfire.

BSWCD's Conservation Education Grants

Accepting applications through November 15

If you want to engage students in the study of natural resources in Benton County we want to help make it happen! We fund field trips, interns, garden supplies, curriculum, and a wide variety of other projects. Average grant award is $500. Application period will close November 15, 2021.
