All School Thanksgiving Chapel

Please save the date for our All School Thanksgiving Chapel on Friday, November 19 at 8:30 A.M. on the Trustee Commons. Parents are welcome to join us for this program and encouraged to bring a chair if you wish to sit.

Should rain or wet conditions force us to move the Chapel into the gym, unless your child is performing that morning (classes or individual's parents will be notified by their teachers), we encourage parents to watch the chapel via livestream instead of attending in person due to limited space.

EDS Thanks Our Veterans

The EDS Veterans Day Assembly was held on Friday, November 12, and led by Seventh and Eighth-Grade students Kate C., William H., Henry K., Jamison R., and Connor S. Third-grade students, Owen M. and Amelia S., and fourth-grade students, Milly M. and Cliff W., served as ushers.

Father Ted Clarkson led our opening prayer. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the Fifth Grade sang “The Star-Spangled Banner'' and the First Grade sang “This Land is Your Land.” Fifth-grade students Janiyah F., Josie M., Jane Marshall O., Ruby P., Makenzie P., and Yates R., shared their reflections on personal interviews of veterans of the armed services, and Second-Grade students sang “The Preamble,” a song about the Constitution and its opening statement of principles.

Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Tom Clark engaged the audience with a message inspired by his years of service in the United States Army and Johnny Cash’s song, “Ragged Old Flag.”

With the assistance of Sixth-Grade students Fisher B., Addy C., Spence P., Benjamin S., and Sienna S., students and guests participated in the “Armed Forces Medley,” standing during the appropriate song if they or members of their family have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. The assembly ended with closing remarks from Dr. Murray and a closing prayer.

EDS is proud to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

Faces of Carpool

In this special section of Panther Post, we will be highlighting the amazing faculty and staff that you see each morning and afternoon in carline, but may not know exactly what their role is at EDS. If you do know them, this is also a great way to learn something new! This week's “Face of Carpool” is Kristen Heinlein, one of our art teachers! Read More

Curriculum Snapshots

We are proud to share Curriculum Snapshots for each student’s grade level and academic discipline. This week we will be highlighting our Third Grade Curriculum Snapshot.

The snapshots for each academic discipline will help to show you the arc of knowledge and continuity of the curriculum from grade to grade across the course of a student’s career at EDS. To view all of the curriculum snapshots for each grade level and subject area, click here.
