Have you remembered Woodlawn in your estate planning?

 November 2021

Welcome:
Welcome and THANK YOU for your interest in the Woodlawn Endowment and Planned Giving Program Newsletter. The primary purpose of the Permanent Endowment Program is to provide a means for members and constituents of The Church to make gifts and bequests to provide a permanent endowment that will become a source for long-term financial support and living memorials to their faith.

Woodlawn as part of the family
The church has always been a part of Bob and Dortha’s life.  Bob was always a self-employed businessman and Dortha a homemaker/bookkeeper/business partner.  Supporting the church financially wasn’t always easy, but they gave what they could when they could.  When it came time to set up a trust, they decided to include the church in the division of assets upon their passing.  They discussed the obvious 10% tithe or a generous fixed amount, but settled on including the church as one of their children.  They had four children and by adding the church as a fifth member of the family, their assets could be liquidated and disbursed equally with 20% going to each.  They particularly liked the idea of endowing their gift to the church and plan for half of it to go to the Legacy Fund and half to the College Scholarship Fund.

Donor Declaration Form
The Endowment Committee has created a
Donor Declaration form and made it available on the Church website.  It can be filled out online or printed out and submitted in paper form.  The purpose of this form is to let individuals and families declare their intent for future donations to the Church and join the Woodlawn Endowment Society family.  It also gives the Endowment Committee visibility of future gifts so they may anticipate the scope of what is to come.
