Dear <<First Name>>

Food systems - the enterprises involved in producing, processing, distributing and selling food - are contributing to serious environmental destruction, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and soil degradation.

These impacts threaten the very foundations of life and all that is sacred. Transition to agro-ecological food systems promise to protect and heal these environmental harms, but government policy is contradictory and the political will to drive urgent change is lacking.

SAFCEI and the DSI-NRF Centre of Excellence in Food Security invite you to participate in a workshop on Sustainable Food Systems on 22 November from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm (SAST).

In this workshop, we will discuss these issues, explore why it matters to faith-based communities, and what role faith-based communities can play to hold both government and the private sector accountable to promote transition to food systems that are equitable and sustainable.
