Join the North Fork Civics for a Presentation on
Deer and Tick-Borne Disease Spread in Southold
How to respond to Southold Town’s overpopulation of deer and the tick-borne diseases they spread is the focus of a virtual discussion next week with the North Fork Deer Alliance.

The Alliance will review the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation's “Management Plan for White-Tailed Deer in NYS 2021-2030” and discuss strategies for local, county, and state agencies to mitigate deer overpopulation and protect human health and the environment.

The one-hour virtual meeting is hosted by the Mattituck-Laurel Civic Association, starts at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, and is open to the public (Zoom invitation below).

The Alliance’s presentation will include the results of its Deer and Tick Survey, followed by question/answer and discussion. MLCA is hosting the meeting to help the community better understand the impact of deer overpopulation on human and environmental health.
