Bienvenidos al noticiero
: La Pluma. Welcome to the Newsletter.

Hola <<First Name>>,

November – a month where changes can no longer be postponed. The beautiful elongated autumn of golden aspen and red leafed maple changes to bare branches.  The extra kayaking escapades are halted by thin coatings of ice. The breathtaking sunsets give way to earlier darkness.  The four seasons reliably change in their own good time. (click to read my November article link)

Last November, my world changed with the death of my mother, Phyllis, postponing all personal plans.  In April, we had “Birthed our Book Baby” in Eau Claire together just two weeks after COVID locked us into our personal spaces.  We stored the boxes in the garage, misted them with chlorine water, touched them with gloved hands, and gingerly packaged each book in a lunch bag for sale from her front door.

But this November – After months of zoom events, writing articles, and finally, in-person presentations,
NO MORE POSTPONING!

Northern Shores/Southern Borders: Revelations of a Bilingual Life is leaving the Midwest!

And, just in time for all that gift-giving!  Birthdays?  La Navidad?  Just cuz?

Gift my book – a small package loaded with culture, smiles, insights, some critical thinking, plus escapades into a global village!  Read aloud to a friend or a book group.  Read in chronological order or a chapter of your choice. Read it and then share it, cycling its energy onward!

Give the gift that enhances perspectives, guides the reader into a larger world view, often just outside of their comfort zone. And, pick up some Spanish along the way! No extra charge!

Abrazos,
Profe Jan(et)
