MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:          Luke 21:33 (ESV)
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass
Join us for our Thanksgiving Eve worship, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 7 pm.  We’ll celebrate with grateful hearts the "Eucharist” as we gather around the Lord’s Table to remember the Lord’s faithfulness to us, providing all that we need for body and life, now and forever.

“Come, Ye Thankful People, Come!”
Join us the evening of Dec. 5, at 5pm, as we celebrate the Advent Season and prepare our hearts to celebrate the coming of our Lord.  Please sign up at
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409044CA4AD2FA57-advent4 and plan to bring both an appetizer and a dessert to share.

For more information, call the church office at 770-973-8877 or email faithlc@faithmarietta.org.
Advent Worship services, with dinner beforehand, are back!  Join Wednesday evenings for a wonderful Mr. Vinny dinner after which we'll all go worship our Lord and prepare our hearts to celebrate His coming.  We'll get the menu out next week, but put it on your calendar and save on cooking and cleaning.

Our first dinner on Dec. 1st will be a celebration of dogs!  Hot dogs, Brats, Italian sausage - if you can put it on a bun, we'll have it!  Well, maybe, within reason. Come and check it out. (Sorry, no beer this time.)

Free will offering - suggesting $5/person; $20/family - where else can you eat for that?!  And it comes with great fellowship, too.

Christmas Tree Assembly Needed

We're looking for a handy person (or two) to put together two 9-ft Christmas trees Dec 2nd or 3rd, so they're ready for decorating on the morning of Dec. 4th.  (Or, some special person could get up really early and get it done before people get here at 9:30?)  Thank you so much!

For more information or to volunteer, contact Deb Schellman.

2022 Election Candidates

It’s election time again.  Each year in December, we elect the Board of Directors. Last year, we approved a smaller structure, which has five boards, each with one elected director and three elected officers.

This year’s nominees are as follows:
Three Officers
  • President, Russell Couch
  • Vice President, Peter Amelingmeier
  • Treasurer, Bob Angrisani
Five Board Directors
  • Elders, Paul Arndt
  • Discipleship, David Hughes
  • Church Properties, Bill Schellman
  • Social Ministry, Colleen Umphrey
  • School Ministry, Andy Doyle
Starting November 14 – November 28, you are invited to submit names for any above positions except for the Board of Elders.  Any submissions are to be emailed to Janice.Schaag@faithmarietta.org or dropped off at the church office.  Any names submitted will be contacted to determine their willingness to serve.  On December 12, at our annual Voters' Election meeting at 12:15 pm, we will elect our officers and board directors for 2022.

FYI:  In case you aren’t aware or didn’t notice, all of the above names are currently serving the same positions and are ready and willing to serve another year.  In my 40 plus years of ministry, that has never happened before. A very special thank you to our current elected leaders.  Russell, Peter, Bob, Paul, David, Bill, Colleen, and Andy.  Thank you for serving our Lord and our Faith Family!

During the month of November, we are asking our families to help us show our gratitude for our school, by contributing to “A Faithful Future” campaign.

What is “A Faithful Future” campaign? It is your Parent Teacher League’s largest fundraising event for the 2021-2022.

How is the money raised spent? Monies from “A Faithful Future” are used for student events, educational enhancements, classroom resources and teacher support and appreciation.

How do I give? Visit https://givebutter.com/afaithfulfuture and credit either "Faith Lutheran," "Faith Alumni," or one of the classes by choosing them. You can then choose an amount.

Thank you so much for supporting our school!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Social Ministry
But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, “Salvation comes from the Lord.”
Jonah 2:9
Many thanks to you!  We were able to collect 110 Christmas Shoeboxes to share the love of Christ with less-fortunate children around the world.  What a blessing each of these boxes will be to their recipients!

Help needed

As many of you are aware, Tim and Judy Rutz are long-time Faith members and Tim is battling many health issues. Cancer and surgery are just a few. We would like to reach out as fellow church members to help them in anyway we can. We are looking for a few people to volunteer an hour or so a week to sit and visit with Tim so that Judy can do the things she needs to do to take care of herself. If we could get a handful of people to help, the commitment would be less time. Positive faces and conversation would help immensely! If you are interested, please email Colleen Umphrey at umphrey.colleen@gmail.com and we can set up a schedule. If you are unable to help, prayers for healing and peace are greatly appreciated.
JUST ONE THING

Don't forget to return your Thanksgiving Bags on Sunday, November 21st.

Anyone who would like to help check and pack more bags with the school donations, please come to the LWML room after 11:00 service on Sunday, November 21st.

If you can help with delivery - please meet us at 1:00 on Tuesday, November 23rd, to load up at Faith and deliver to Brumby

It's not too late if you would like to donate a $15.00 gift card for the families to buy fresh items for their Thanksgiving meal. Please put your gift cards in Colleen Umphrey's mailbox. If it’s easier you can also make a donation to Social Ministry and place it in a church envelope. We will be accepting donations for Thanksgiving and Christmas hams and turkeys.

Thank you for all of your support.
