What's new in MerlinVision

You've all made great progress in the last few weeks, with new annotations made for 107 species for the Western Palearctic project, 118 species for the US and Canada project, and 165 species for the Neotropics project. Across the annotation projects, there are now 33 additional species ready to be added to the next Sound ID model in March with 20 Test and 8o Train files annotated!

We're looking to get in as many annotations as possible by December 31st, so keep up the good work!

Want a year-long subscription to Birds of the World? Everyone who draws 1,000 boxes in the month of November will receive a free code to redeem for a one-year subscription to all that Birds of the World has to offer! Already a subscriber? You can share your code with a friend! Several annotators already qualify, and there is enough time for you to get to 1,000!

Annotation Pro Tip

Found a misidentified recording? You don’t need to annotate this file. Instead, click on the “Problems” button and report the appropriate issue  — this lets us know if a recording can’t be used to train the model. We also recommend you report the misidentification through eBird, as this helps keep eBird data clean too!

Thank YOU annotators! Sound ID wouldn’t exist without you.
