Monday Funday by Karl G Richter

Today's another great day. Let's get this week started with a little food for thought.

In last week's LIVE Monday Funday show, I shared my favorite metaphor for Blended Learning. This tongue-in-cheek look at learning technologies is something I'm calling the Blended Learning Food Pyramid.

In this week's show, I'll take you behind the scenes as I set up an automated email campaign using MailChimp. I've monkeyed around with this tool in the past because I love tools that are mobile and modern.

Email campaigns can take advantage of the brain's need for spaced repetition. I'm building a small mobile microlearning-y course that covers some of my favorite ways to blend different learning technologies. (The free 60 minute course itself is launching next week)

Do you have an appetite for Blended Learning?
This quick overview of my Blended Learning Food Pyramid may hit the spot.

Free Storyline Resource

Last week I shared a free Storyline file that you can download to make your own road trip in Storyline.

Here's a look at the finished version. If it gets your motor running, please download it and use it.

Work smart, not hard.

I use rebrand.ly to have a short URL that can be updated at any time. Bit.ly won't let you edit a link.

I know, you may be thinking, so what, Karl? Here's an example of how you could use it.

Each week I have a new link for my show on YouTube, so I set up https://rebrand.ly/karlsliveshow so I don't have to change my website and the buttons in my newsletter every week. I just update it on rebrand.ly and it takes you to the right show.

I used to use this tool with clients when I'd publish courses and the link would change with each version. If you have content that moves around a lot, even the free version can be a game changer.

Link of the Week

Like a snake eating its own tail, here's a collection of resources about curation from super collector Mike Taylor.

The Internet is filled with fascinating and helpful resources. Do you have a good strategy for finding, organizing, and sharing the gems out there?  It's become a real area of emphasis for me this year.
