Ways to Stay Sustainable During Finals:

We know finals week can be daunting but a sustainable lifestyle is still possible even after all-nighters, here is how:

  1. Turn it off: Turn your phone and the background Netflix off - save energy and your grades ;)

  2. Use a travel mug: we know caffeine is essential after 2 hours of sleep, bring your own travel mug to reduce plastic waste!

  3. Reduce and recycle paper by using 2 sides of every piece of paper and then recycle your paper at your department's paper bin or the library.

Ways to Stay Sustainable During Holiday Season:

  1. Use LED lights instead of regular fluorescent lights- Citing the Department of Energy, Forbes reports that using LED holiday lights in place of the conventional ones results in a 75 percent reduction in power drawn by the lights; this means lesser carbon emissions.

  2. Reuse wrapping paper- Keep gift bags and wrapping paper and reuse them to reduce waste from gifts. You can even get creative and use scarves, newspapers, or a bandana to wrap gifts!

  3. Reuse holiday decorations from previous years or DIY your own decorations, check out Pinterest for some inspiration!

December 5th- World Soil Day

Healthy soil is vital to human life because, without it, there is no sustenance. The first World Soil Day was launched in 2012 and the environmental campaign continues, aiming to raise the profile of the need for healthy soil and its role in preserving healthy ecosystems and human health.
