The Church is listening! Sessions have begun and the initial response has been extremely positive. We have offered four facilitator trainings and 218 people from 124 parishes, schools or Catholic organizations have participated. As requested, we have also scheduled additional trainings over the next couple of weeks. Read more

New! Synod Facilitator Trainings

At least two lead facilitators from your parish, school or Catholic organization will be needed to lead your listening sessions and/or to train others on how to lead. Several opportunities for facilitator training are available, both in-person and virtually. We will continue to add resources throughout the Synodal process to assist you. Download flyer

Holiday Conversation Starters

Since we will be in the midst of the synodal process during the holidays, we have also provided a handout with conversation starters for holiday gatherings with family and friends. We encourage you to share with community members as another opportunity to share and listen to the experiences of others, especially those who may be disconnected from the Church. A Synodal Celebration of Las Posadas

The festivities of Las Posadas take place from December 16-24 and commemorate the journey Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a place of lodging or an “inn” (literally what posada means) so Mary could give birth to Jesus. During this synodal celebration, each day participants will reflect on a Scripture passage and theme from the Synod. Also available in Spanish.

Ecumenical Dialogue

The dialogue between Christians of different confessions, united by one baptism, has a special place in the synodal journey. As we prepare for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity on January 18 - 25, 2022, we have adapted the listening session for your use in dialogue with Christians of other traditions and denominations.
