FLYIN' HIGH NEWSLETTER

In the News

Between the 3D modeled UAS Booth, Drone Geoscience Map of Flying Park, and learning how various Search & Rescue teams are actively using drones to save lives. We all had a phenomenal time at the Fall UAS RoundUp this year. For those that weren't able to attend, we missed you but hope to see you next year for the most elevated UAS conference.

Since one primary focus of the event was on emerging technologies, I wanted to send over a few links that I thought you might be interested in.
  1. Link to view & measure the Drone Park via PIX4Dcloud
  2. Link to a 3D Model of the UAS Colorado Booth via PIX4Dcatch
  3. Link to learn more about 3D modeling & Photogrammetry

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Thanks to all that were able to join our Colorado uncrewed aircraft systems community at this year's holiday party. A large selection of beers, a full bar, and a variety of food options from local trucks were all graciously sponsored by Black Swift Technologies to help celebrate their 10th anniversary. Based in Boulder, CO and founded in 2011, Black Swift Technologies is recognized for delivering reliable, robust, and highly accurate unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) capable of flying scientific payloads in demanding atmospheric environments (high-altitude, arctic, desert, corrosive particulates, and strong turbulence).

Additionally, if you missed the Clubhouse/Meet-Up on November 14th make sure to tune in. Join Dr. Jack Elston CEO and Co-Founder of Boulder-based Black Swift Technologies discusses his extreme BVLOS efforts monitoring volcanoes with drones. Watch the playback on our new UAS Colorado YouTube channel here.
In helping to support the organization and to learn more about the updates to drone regulations, subscribe to Dawn's new Podcast; "Dawn of Drones".

Drone soccer is a thrilling indoor team sport played with radio controlled quadcopters in protective exoskeletons designed for collisions. Five player teams face off in a netted arena where they ram and block the opposing team to prevent them from scoring. But before pilots can compete they must first learn to build, program, fly, and repair high-performance drones, learning engineering skills towards exciting careers in aviation.
