Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) Round 6

The Australian Government has announced $250 million in the 2021-22 Budget towards a sixth round of the BBRF.

The Round Six Grant Opportunity Guidelines, consistent with the existing BBRF framework, will be made available on the Business Grants Hub website when finalised along with program guidelines and eligibility criteria.

Grant funding is available through two funding streams:
  • The Infrastructure Projects Stream: Supports projects that involve construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure
  • The Community Investments Stream: Funds community development activities including, but not limited to, new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, leadership and capability building activities
Historically the program guidelines are released in the December/January period. So now is a good time to consider planning for your potential application, thinking about who you can contact to assist and generally gathering information, so it is readily available when the criteria is announced.

RDALC can assist potential applicants with letters of support, general guidance and assistance. Contact Lyn Howes via email or call 8723 1057.

Is Your Business Involved in Civil Construction Across the Limestone Coast?

Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast (RDALC) are seeking to gain a better understanding of the civil construction training and employment needs across the Limestone Coast, and we want to identify the key 'employability' skills of workers within the sector.

We are seeking participants from the civil construction industry to complete a brief survey. Your input will help define the development of future targeted training and workforce initiatives for the civil construction sector. The survey is relevant to all businesses within the civil construction sector including cement delivery and crane operators.

All survey responses will be treated with confidence, and you do not have to identify yourself or your business. To complete the survey click here.

For further information and/or assistance, please email jobs@rdalc.org.au and a staff member will respond to your enquiry.

Bushfire Preparedness with Demographics

In preparing for an emergency such as a bushfire, understanding the demographic and socioeconomic makeup of a place can be as important as knowing which alternative roads to use or what kind of prevailing winds are expected during a fire event. Some areas will be more resilient than others, some areas will be composed of a more vulnerable/at-risk population than others, and some areas will require different communication and broadcasting methods to ensure messages and instructions are received quickly and clearly. Acting quickly in bushfire emergencies saves lives.

In their latest blog, Nenad from .id demonstrates some of the ways they work with local government partners to support them in preparing for times of crisis.
