Join us for Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve Service will be held outside again this year! If you have been unable to join in-person services, maybe you can join in on the fun of our outdoor Christmas Eve service. Wear plenty of layers, bring your favorite hot drink, and celebrate the birth of our Savior!

Share your Christmas

How fun it is to get a peek into the traditions that people have to celebrate Christmas! Would you be be willing to share pictures and a small excerpt of your family's traditions? It can be a recipe, a special tradition, a game, or the way you celebrate Advent. If you would like to share please contact MCC2communicate@gmail.com

Opportunity to Serve

Fellowship

Our Fellowship time at church is returning! We will be doing coffee and snacks in the Fellowship Hall between services.  We need volunteers to work on rotation for set up and serving of food. We also need volunteers to bring food to share. To help us out, please contact Patty Anderson at (281) 979-2423 or (505) 286-7783 or by e-mail at bnpanderson@yahoo.com

Nursery
We also look forward to bringing back nursery so our new parents can have a chance to be a part of our worship service and sermon! If you are interested in serving in our nursery please contact Paul Brouse.

Wood Ministry
Just a reminder that our monthly Wood Ministry will meet Friday, December 10th and Saturday, December 11th. On Friday, we will be cutting down three large trees and on Saturday we will process and transport the wood. Several men will be needed on Friday and many hands are needed for Saturday. We need trucks, trailers chainsaws, and helpers. If you can help us, please contact Paul Brouse at 505-615-7584 or pbrouse@hotmail.com

Winter Food Boxes

It's time for the Winter Food Boxes Shine provides for A. Montoya families in need.  We have been doing this ministry for several years and it is such a blessing to the receiving families.

Many of the students at A. Montoya rely on the free lunch program at school and when the two week winter break happens they don't receive that food.  We provide 2 weeks worth of breakfast and lunch meals for the entire family, which ends up being a tremendous amount of food.  This year we are providing for 20 families and in total that adds up to over 1,800 items.

Will you join us in praying for these families, that they would know and feel the love of Jesus through this ministry?

Please grab a tag (or several) off the tree in the foyer and return the items to the church fellowship hall by Wednesday, Dec. 15.

If you're unable to shop but would like to participate, you may donate on the church website - please designate Shine Winter Food Boxes in the comments. This helps with supplies such as the boxes we use.

This is a great way to serve your community this Christmas season.

Praise Report

VBS in India
A couple weeks ago we shared that our funding helped distribute warm sweaters to the children who attended VBS in India. Below are some pictures of the kids receiving their sweaters and wearing them.

Candidates for Deacon Council
The Deacon Council (DC) and Elder Council are pleased to announce that Shannon & Marcy Bryant are now Candidates for the DC.  Please be in prayer for them as they engage in this process.  Also, please share your feedback with them, or one of our leaders, as we seek the Lord to raise up His servants and leaders for our body.

Prayer Points

 Our Youth

  • For our young men, many of whom are in the midst of transformative growth. Pray that they would be continue to be given godly discontentment and seek the Lord in response.

  • For a potential new high school guys' Bible study/accountability group (auxilliary to the high school youth group) on the horizon in the new year. Pray that this would aid in cultivating growth and subsequent fruit in our young men's lives.

  • For the youth ministry leadership team, as we continue to face ever-changing circumstances and challenges. Pray that we as leaders would be obedient regarding God's work in our individual lives, and outwardly be unified, giving preference to one another as we seek to advance forward in our ministry, rather than simply maintaining what we have.
