A Beautiful Hanging of the Greens to begin Advent
We are proud to share that Ryder Dean has just completed our Blessing Box and Little Library for his Eagle Scout project (Troop 120). The Blessing Box is meant to be a discreet way those in need can pick up food and hygienic items. The Little Library is a way for people of all ages to borrow books to read. Both are the first of their kind in the city and are open to everyone in Pleasant Grove. Way to go, Ryder! We celebrated his workmanship and blessed these boxes this past Sunday at the close of our service.
Raise the Roof…80% there!
Because of your extravagant generosity, we have raised 80% for our roof. Almost there!!! As a reminder, you can make checks payable to the church with memo, “Roof replacement”’.
Christmas Brunch, Dec 12 11:30 AM
All are invited to break bread together at our annual Christmas brunch. This brunch will occur directly following the worship service on December 12th. Please look for sign up sheets around church to share what you’d like to bring.
Choir Cantata, Dec 19
The Miracle of Christmas told by Pastor Matt and Jonah Oldendorf as they recount the miraculous events from scripture. Once Upon a Miracle includes beloved carols and newer songs of the season, including A Child Is Born by the late Joe E. Parks. We hope you can attend this musical highlight of the Christmas season.
Christmas Eve Candlelight & Communion, Dec 24 5:30 PM
With caroling, candlelight, and communion, our Christmas Eve will be a service to remember. Invite your family and neighbors as we welcome Christ into our world.
Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols, Dec 26
Take a break from your holiday festivities and join us for our annual Lessons & Carols. We will read scripture and sing carols to our heart’s content.
White Christmas Offering
Our White Christmas offering to benefit the Embrace AL Kids (formerly UM Children’s Home) can be given any time before Dec. 31. We hope you consider giving toward a ministry that brings wholeness and healing to so many children in Alabama.
Christmas Mailbox
Save time and money by sending Christmas cards to church members via our Community Christmas Box, found in Welcome Center. Place your card (with return address), sealed and marked for your recipient, in the boxes according the first letter of their last name, A to Z. Everyone check the mail boxes each week and pick up any cards addressed to you. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Thank you to all who made commitments for the 2022 year. We are still collecting Commitment Covenant forms for those who still need to complete theirs.
