THIS WEEK'S ACTIONS AND ONGOING CAMPAIGNS

Tomorrow, Sunday, December 5th at 1 p.m. we will have our first *hybrid* Monthly Member Meeting at FIU's main campus in the Student Academic Success Center Room 352. Some refreshments and snacks will be provided. Click here to register on Zoom if you are unable to attend in-person. We are excited to see everyone!

On Friday, December 10th at 7 p.m. we will be holding a Holiday Fundraising Social at Paradis Books & Bread. We will be fundraising so we can make and distribute hygiene kits for houseless folks in our community. Come hang out and get involved with our social and mutual aid working groups!

On Saturday, December 11th at noon our members will be out in support of MDCPS School Bus Drivers and Aides in their struggle to increase wages and re-institute STEPS schedules. The pandemic has allowed the School Board to hire new workers at $15/hr without increasing the wages of older employees. We encourage everyone to come out and support these hardworking community members! We'll be meeting at the corner of SW 152nd and US1.

MIAMI DSA WORKING GROUPS

This week our Labor Working Group officially re-launched! Members have been encouraged by the increase in militancy of American labor. During our first meeting, the Labor Working Group laid out a vision for building unionism in Miami. Not only are we planning to build the workers, but we will be refining the skills of labor organizers as well so we can push for labor democracy from all angles.

Our Mutual Aid and Social Working Groups are combining forces this month to organize a fundraiser event for the holiday season as well as to make and hand out hygiene packs to houseless residents at encampments in the City. Help them coordinate on our Slack or email us for more information.

MEMBER SURVEY

If you are a member of the Chapter, please check your email for a link to take this year's member survey. The plan is to compile the data to make an anonymized report that we can reference during our meetings and use in our organizing work. We need all current members to complete the attached survey by the end of the year, Friday, December 31st. Please email us if you have any questions or did not receive your survey link.
