1. 8th Grade Sweatshirts are in the printing process! We will have a delivery date and schedule a day to make a purchase shortly. Sweatshirts are for 8th grade Students only and will have all of their names on the back. They are $25 (photo below)
2. Need Sweatpants or a Hoodie for PE or everyday? Come purchase your items Thursday and Friday, 12/9 and 12/10 from 7:45a - 8:30a. If you prefer, send your kids with their size and either cash, check or credit card to make a purchase. Kids will order with our volunteer parents out front and have them delivered to their PE class the next day. If you need to exchange the sizes you ordered previously come see us that morning as well! Hoodies are $20, Sweatpants are $15, PE Shirts and Shorts are $10 each.

Parents, see the Grandparents Circle section of our website for easy printable or electronic resources to ask your child's grandparents to support Santa Monica students. There’s even a fillable template for your child to send a donation letter to their grandparents!

Samohi Orchestra Winter Concert - December 7th
Come discover what it’s like playing in the high school orchestra on Tuesday, December 7th at 6:30pm at Barnum Hall. Winter Choral Concert
On Friday, December 10, the Santa Monica High School Choral Music department will return with one of our most favorite concert performances, "Motus Perpetuus," a beautiful and truly unique Winter Choral Concert of Perpetual Motion. Tickets are $5 for students/seniors, $10 for adults, and available online now.
During this concert, students sing and move throughout Barnum Hall, and applause is held until after the very last piece, so the music's motion can flow and continue without interruption. The result is a stunning concert experience!
Doors open for seating at 6:30pm, and all seating is reserved, so be sure to purchase your tickets and choose your seat online. This concert often sells out, so don't wait!

ATTENTION 8th GRADE PARENTS: Yearbook kudos ads are filling up!
A kudos is a celebratory ad in the yearbook that you purchase and design. It is a great reflection of your child’s journey and time at John Adams. Sadly, spots for kudos are limited and the deadline to order a kudos ad is 12/31/2021. The ad space is sold "first come first serve" so it would be best to place your order as soon as possible.

You can create a collage with baby pictures, sports events, and a message to your child to look back on. This is a great way to celebrate your students success, and remember their times at JAMS

Attendance & what to do if your child is absent or leaving early:
ABSENCES
All absences and tardies must be excused by parents or guardians. Parents may report absences via the JAMS website (click on the "Find It Fast" button at the top right and then select "Report an Absence"; or click here) or by leaving a detailed phone message at 310-452-2326 x72201. Please be sure to provide your child's name, ID number or birthdate, date of absences and a detailed reason for the absence.
LEAVING EARLY
Please let us know first thing in the morning if your child will be leaving school early. You may either fill out the online "Report an Absence" form or write a note and have your child deliver it to the Attendance Office before the start of school. The note should contain your child's name, the date/time they will be leaving school early, the reason for leaving early and a phone number where the parent can be reached for verification. If your child is leaving early on a Tuesday, please allow an additional 10 minutes for them to complete their Covid testing before leaving campus.
Absences that are not cleared within 72 hours will be recorded as truant. For more information on attendance policies, please visit the JAMS website or refer to SMMUSD's Attendance FAQ page.
