Welcome to our last newsletter for 2021!

What a year it’s been. Through these uncertain times, our program offers us hope for a brighter tomorrow. As Promise 12 reminds us: “Gradually, with our Higher Power’s help, we will learn to expect the best and get it.”

We look forward to seeing you at a meeting soon as we continue to step into a better way of life we never imaged could be possible.

☀️ ACA SA 2022 Retreat

Bookings are open for the ACA SA 2022 Retreat, and spots are filling up fast! It’s all happening from 5pm Friday 21st of January to 2:30pm Sunday 23rd at the beautiful Nunyara Conference Centre.

The full rate for three days (two nights) is very affordable at $220. This includes accomodation, meals, and a whole lot of gentleness, humour, love and respect. This year’s retreat is based around the theme of reparenting, and the full program is now available via the link below.

Visitors are also welcome for $30 a day, with pre-booked meals for an extra fee. Save your spot now, and get ready for a great start to 2022.

🎥 Picnic and movie

To celebrate the end of the year, join your ACA SA family for an evening picnic, followed by the festive film favourite Love Actually! We’ll meet at 7pm, with the movie kicking off at 8:45pm. BYO food, blankets and chairs.

Cost: $15 (general admission)

We are so grateful to Rick H for his service to Intergroup – he brought so much wisdom and steadfastness to his role as secretary. Rick, we’ll miss having you at our monthly meetings!

The Intergroup now has a vacant position for secretary. The role requires someone to take minutes via Google Docs to distribute to the fellowship. We welcome your loving service in 2022.

The Inner Child lives within all of us, it's the part of us that feels emotions and is playful intuitive and creative. Usually hidden under our grown-up personas, the Inner Child holds the key to intimacy in relationships physical and emotional well-being, recovery from addictions, and the creativity and wisdom of our inner selves.

"Recovery of Your Inner Child" is the only book that shows you how to have a "firsthand experience" of your Inner Child — actually feeling its emotions and recapturing its sense of wonder — by writing and drawing with your non-dominant hand.

Recovery of Your Inner Child is now available for members to borrow from the ACA SA library at the Eastwood Community Centre.

🎄 A very Intergroup Christmas

As always, you’re welcome to join us on the last Thursday of every month for our ACA SA Intergroup meeting. This one will be extra festive!

Along with the latest updates from our members, we will be reading from the Big Red Book on Tradition 12: “Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.”

Following the meeting, we’d love your help in making any last plans for the ACA SA 2022 Retreat to make sure it’s another great weekend away. It’s taking place at the same Zoom link from Thursday December 23 at 8pm. All welcome!
