Take your career to the next level

Write the CMP® or SCMP® exam in January.

Earn your Communication Management Professional® (CMP®) or Strategic Communication Management Professional® (SCMP®) certification in the New Year.

Certification will bring you global recognition, enhance your career and show your commitment to strategy, ethics and your ability to solve problems and drive business results through strategic communication.

The Global Communication Certification Council® (GCCC®) certification program is based on the Global Standard of the Communications Profession – set out by IABC – and both the CMP® and the SCMP® certifications were developed to conform to ISO (17024), and are both internationally accredited. These are the only global certifications that have reached this level of standards.

Did you miss the virtual information sessions? We’ve got you covered. Watch the recording and access valuable study resources.

Steps to get certified
  1. Choose the certification path that is right for you
  2. Apply to get certified as a CMP® by or SCMP® at least 30 days prior to the exam (fees apply)
  3. Once accepted into the CMP® or SCMP® certification path, register for the CMP® exam on January 15 or SCMP® exam on January 22 (fees apply)

Important – Ensure you select the correct currency when renewing/joining IABC

When IABC transitioned to a new association management system (AMS) in July,  enhancements were made to the join/renew process, including the option for quarterly payments, the ability to join multiple chapters, an auto renewal feature, and more.

Important to select the correct currency
In addition to USD, IABC currently accepts AUD, Euro, and CAD for membership payments. Chapters that are located in countries that use AUD, Euro, or CAD are set up to accept payment in that currency in the membership application.

When members join/renew they must select their currency at the top of the application before they begin the join/renew process. Otherwise, they will only see chapters that are available in their currency, which defaults to USD.

If you are a member up for renewal you should already have an invoice in your member profile in the correct currency. You just need to log into your IABC profile and select the ‘make payment’ option on the right side of the page.

IABC/Toronto member benefits and resources
IABC/Toronto members enjoy many benefits beyond those offered with IABC membership:
  • Preferred event registration fees for members
  • Access to recordings of recent webinars
  • Perkopolis: exclusive* entertainment and lifestyle discounts
  • CareerCycles, a career management social enterprise: preferred rates for members
