Upcoming Webinars

December 2021

With over 300 members in more than 65 countries, the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience offers unprecedented access to a range of sites and methodologies dedicated to connecting past struggles to today’s movements for human rights. To best share these resources, we offer multiple webinars every month.

In December, we are pleased to host two sessions.

The first, on December 1st, will be a 30-minute "Webinar Short" entitled "Reaching People Outside of Digital Spaces'' with Silvia Fernández, Global Networks Program Director, and Muthulingam Periyasamy, Executive Director of the Institute of Social Development in Sri Lanka. Together they will share strategies for ensuring that all members of a community are included in Sites of Conscience programming, especially after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This webinar starts at 9:00 am (EST-NY). To register, click here

Additionally, on December 16th, join Pratima Narayan, a Deputy Program Director with the Coalition’s Global Initiative for Justice, Truth, and Reconciliation (GIJTR), as she hosts a Conscience Matters webinar on Racism, Ethnicity, & Xenophobia alongside Site of Conscience members and partners. This session will focus on the renewed Global Responsibility to Protect and the ways that communities can identify early warning signs to combat racism, ethnic discrimination, and xenophobia.

This webinar starts at 10:00 am (EST-NY). To register, click here.

Virtual Advocacy in Support of Women, Girls and the LGBTI Community
Friday, December 10th
8 am (EST-NY)

Building on discussions held, lessons learned, and skills gained at the Coalition’s “Challenging Bias Against Women, Girls and the LGBTI Community” global workshop earlier this year, eight selected Sites of Conscience members created digital advocacy campaigns to highlight commonly held biases about women or the LGBTI community. Supported by the Coalition, the community engagement grants - collectively titled, “Virtual Advocacy in Support of Women, Girls and the LGBTI Community”, equipped each recipient with the funds and practical skills to launch low-cost, high-impact local advocacy campaigns that shine a light on discrimination, increase understanding, and foster new levels of social cohesion for these groups.

In this webinar, join Gegê Leme Joseph, Senior Program Manager for Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean, and the recipients of the Coalition’s community engagement grants, to explore the final advocacy campaigns.
