STLI Teaching Retreat: Ramping up for Spring 2022

 
The STLI Teaching Retreat builds connections and community with opportunities for consultation with STLI team members, student partners, and colleagues. The in-person retreat is January 19 - 20 at Swem Library, offering four sessions: Syllabus Feedback/Revision, Creating Efficient & Effective Assessments, The W&M Digital Learning Environment, and Student Engagement & Collaboration. Feel free to register for one session or attend all, whatever fits your needs! Each 2-hour session will include a brief presentation, followed by an opportunity for practice, application, and feedback. The STLI Teaching Retreat is a companion event to the University Libraries Writers’ Retreat for William & Mary instructors.

January 19

Teaching & Learning Talk + Workshop |  Universal Design: Making Classes more Accessible & Rigorous

How can we make our courses more accessible for our diverse students while enhancing rigor? Join Professor and STLI Fellow Leslie Cochrane on December 2 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm for a talk about her project on accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Come for the first hour to hear about taking an inclusive approach to accessibility in the college classroom and if you're available, stay for the next half hour to apply UDL ideas to one of your own courses!
