State-based Marketplace Directors Support Continued Tax Credit Enhancements

The proposed Build Back Better Act includes provisions that would extend enhanced health insurance premium tax credits through 2025.

These enhanced tax credits, which were temporarily enacted under the American Rescue Plan Act, have improved affordability and increased marketplace coverage for millions of Americans.

In a letter to Congress, directors of 17 state-based marketplaces express support for these measures as the Senate considers the Build Back Better Act.

States Use Rescue Plan Funds to Support Transition Services and Housing

The situation: The American Rescue Plan Act gives states a chance to get a 10% increase in the federal medical assistance program (FMAP) for Medicaid home and community-based services.

Our new map shows how states are using these one-time funds to support transitions from institutional settings into the community through:

  • Housing navigation
  • Employment placement
  • Assistance with transition costs and other social determinant supports
  • Affordable and accessible housing

A Case Study of California's ACEs Aware Initiative

This month, we’re featuring A Case Study of California’s ACEs Aware Initiative.

The ACEs Aware initiative:

  • Covers the cost of screenings and related services under Medi-Cal

You can explore other state resources and learn more about California’s initiative in NASHP’s Healthy Child Development State Resource Center. Have a resource you’d like us to highlight? Email Elinor Higgins.
