Meet the Brewer Tasting Session
When: 4 Dec, 5pm – 7pm
Where: Blue Lake Eatery & Bar

Create Festival are holding the 'Meet the Brewer Tasting Session' at the Blue Lake in Tekapo with local Sebastian Burke, as he shares insights and tips about his award-winning beers.

Only $25 per person. Tastings included. 18+ event.

Christmas Festive Fun in Tekapo ( This is instead of our community BBQ )
When: 8 Dec, 4pm – 7pm
Where: Lake Tekapo Village

Support local and join us in the Tekapo Village for some evening Christmas shopping. We've got music by Rosie Campbell and Brad Staley, horse and carriage rides, electric bike rides, golf, your chance to win an AMAZING Christmas hamper, a children’s scavenger hunt, adults mobile quiz, and of course, our local shops will be open for your Christmas shopping with special deals! Dress up in your Best Xmas outfit to win a prize ! Santa appearance and lollie scramble for the kids.

Lake Tekapo Sculpture Walk
When: 4 December – 21st January
Where: Lake Tekapo Domain

Create Festival are pleased to host the Lake Tekapo Sculpture Walk on the Tekapo Tekapo Domain. Made up of 15 outstanding sculptors (14 outside, 1 inside) situated around the domain and lake edge. Make sure you get down there and take a look.

Mackenzie Photography Competition
When: On now until early January
Where: Twizel Town Centre

Create Festival are thrilled to announce Igor Hoogerwerf as the winner of their inaugural Mackenzie Region Photography Competition.

The winning image 'Tekapo Saddle in Moonlight', along with the other finalists, can be viewed in the Twizel Town Centre on outdoor billboards. They look amazing; a true reflection of how incredible the Mackenzie Region is.

A 2022 Create Calendar, which features all 12 incredible images is available for $20. They make the perfect Christmas gift (or keep it for yourself!). Purchase them online via their website www.createfestivalnz.co.nz/shop, or in-store from Petronella's Bookstore in Tekapo or the Twizel Bookshop.

Summer Exhibition - 'Juxtaposition'
When: 3pm Saturday 4th December - 21st January
Where: ArtSpace Tekapo (above Petronella’s in Rapuwai Lane, Lake Tekapo)

ArtSpace Tekapo is excited to bring our exhibition, ‘Juxtaposition’ to you this summer. Featuring new work from Mark Soltero, Mike Armstrong, Rosemary Campbell and Brent Forbes, this exciting exhibition is being displayed in Tekapo for the first time.

Just as the title says, it’s a true juxtaposition of works from the monochromatic style of Mark Soltero through to the bright and vivid coloration of Mike Armstrong.

We are looking at the viability of organising a St John First Aid course in Tekapo early next year.
First Aid Course Level One.
This one day course is the minimum requirement for a workplace first aider and is also suitable for anyone wanting to learn the basics of first aid. It includes CPR.
The cost would be $179 per person. The course in Timaru is the same price.
We would need a minimum of 12 people to run the course here.

Lake Tekapo Map

Map Collection Point

The map books ($7 each), are distributed by the fabulous Annie OSullivan at Bespoke Bikes, 8 Simpson Lane (also Lake Tekapo Holiday Homes if Annie is out).

Please purchase your maps online here then hand the purchase order to Annie and she will hand over the maps. Annies opening hours are variable over winter so email her before dropping in.

** Please note that maps need to be purchased online before collection **

(this change is to free up our treasurers time rather than chasing payment)

We will update the maps in April 2022 - you will need to BE A MEMBER to be on the map.

Membership is usually $150 per year (1 April - 31 March annually), $50 for any additional website listings or a second business and ONLY $30 for an individual membership. Note that membership this year is reduced to $90 in consideration off the effect that the pandemic is having on many businesses.
