On #GivingTuesday Help Unlock $10,000

Ashala is an energetic, vibrant spirit who lights up any room she enters. After a loss in the family and grappling with the isolation of remote learning, Ashala found her voice through making art. At The Crucible,  she had access to a support system and a creative outlet when she needed it most.

This past summer, Ashala returned to the studio for our four-week Fuego Youth Leadership Program, where she fell in love with ceramics. Her final project was a multifaceted, complex ceramic sculpture titled “Split Personalities.” It helped Ashala process the last year and tell her story when words were not enough.

If 250 people make a donation of any size before the end of the year, an anonymous donor will give $10,000 in additional funds to support art-making for all. Can you help us hit that goal with a gift today?

“This experience gave me confidence, like, ‘You got power. You got glitter in your soul, and now, you can show that to the world.

You don’t have to keep that in. People will love to see that.’”
