Hello <<First Name>>,

Thanks for tuning in and I hope you had a delicious Thanksgiving! As you probably know, it's been an eventful month here at Shelter—in large part thanks to YOU. Here’s an update on what we've been working on:

Moratorium Updates
On November 15, the Town Council met to discuss parking requirements and potential zoning updates. We are so proud that ShelterJH members submitted over 100 comment letters to the Councilors! If you haven’t weighed in on the moratorium discussion yet, check out our template letter here. You can also read our comment letter for inspiration. On December 6, the Town Council will be meeting again and discussing action items. Be sure to submit a comment by then, or even better, attend the meeting virtually (check the agenda for the Zoom link) and comment live!

Save the Date: January 11, 2022!
Have you attended one of our virtual annual member meetings yet? Join us Tuesday, January 11th at 5:30pm to hear updates on our major accomplishments of the year, vote on board offices, confirm new board members, and listen to a report on our financial status. All members are invited and encouraged to participate!

End of Year Donations: Another Matching Campaign!
It’s that time of year to start thinking about the giving season. We are so thankful for our members’ dedication. With your support, we have increased staff capacity and been able to represent you more effectively! Our matching fundraising campaign was so successful in June that Esther Judge-Lennox (ShelterJH member who founded Shacks on Racks) will be matching donations through the end of the year! Please remember us as you support your favorite organizations!

New Board Member
We are proud to announce that Nikki Kaufman is our newest board member! ShelterJH members will decide whether to confirm her new seat at our Annual Meeting. Nikki is a powerful community advocate and we are so grateful to have her on our team.

Northern South Park
We are still watching the NSP process closely. The Steering Committee met this month and you can watch that meeting here. We are waiting for the consultants to release their report regarding the survey they released during the summer, so stay tuned!

Partnership Framework
This month, we brought consultant Seana Doherty to Jackson to meet with local leaders in the business, government, and non-profit communities to kick off our Partnership Framework project modeled after the Mountain Housing Council in Truckee. After a successful inaugural meeting, we are planning next steps to establish this group so we can work together to create homes that locals can afford.

Jackson Hole News & Guide featured us in our first headline this month!

Hot Topics in Housing
ShelterJH members share relevant articles with one another through our member group. Here are what our conversations have been about this month:

Join Us!
If you’re not already a member, please join our movement. We suggest a donation of $20 per year; however, we want our membership to be as accessible as possible, so please pay what you can. Members receive access to special meetings, vote on the Board of Directors, and help set the vision and trajectory for the organization. Already a member? Forward this email to five friends who care about the housing emergency!

As always, I am here to answer any questions. Thanks for your steadfast support of ShelterJH!

Best,
Clare Stumpf
