North Carolina local governments are expected to receive $392 million in sales tax distributions, a 13% increase statewide compared to last year. December 2021 distributions reflect September 2021 sales. The increase in distributions includes $45 million more in local sales tax revenue compared to the same month last year, when the economic impact was already rebounding.
