City Commission Meeting Recap
The City Commission of Eudora held its regular, semimonthly meetings on Monday, November 8 and 22, 2021 at City Hall.
- Approved the purchase of a patrol car for the Police Department.
- Approved the Property Management Agreement with CBRE for the Nottingham Center.
- Approved Nottingham Center Declaration of Association and of Easements, Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions document.
- Adopted Resolution 2021-13, a resolution adopting the Douglas County Emergency Operations Plan.
- Authorized the Public Works Director to sell the attached surplus vehicles and equipment on a Purple Wave auction.

Holiday Hayrack
Beginning Thursday, December 2, the Eudora Parks and Recreation Department will tour the Christmas lights of Eudora on their Holiday "Hayrack". Rides will last approximately 30-35 minutes with complimentary hot chocolate.
The hayrack can take around 20 passengers per ride. Two rides will run every Tuesday and Thursday evening up until December 23. Rides are at 6:00 and 6:45 p.m. and load/depart from the Eudora Community Center (1630 Elm St.). Suggested donation is $2 per rider. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Eudora Parks and Recreation Foundation.

Senior's Christmas Party Extravaganza
The Senior Foundation of Eudora and Senior Resource Center of Douglas County will be hosting a holiday-themed community social gathering on December 10 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Eudora Community Center. This special event will feature vocal stylings from the Eudora High School music department and free lunch provided by Wendy's.
Guests are requested to bring a wrapped gift to participate in a white elephant gift-exchange.

December Dash "5K Run/Walk/Crawl"
Join the Eudora Parks and Recreation Department in their 9th annual December Dash event on Saturday, December 18 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Asher Cohn Park Trailhead (2635 Church St). A portion of race fees will go toward efforts of the Parks and Recreation Department for ongoing park, playground, and ballfield improvements.

Douglas County Community Listening Session
Douglas County will be hosting a virtual Community Listening Session about the membership size of the Board of County Commissioners. The session will begin at on Thursday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m., using Zoom. Individuals also can attend at the County Courthouse, 1100 Massachusetts Street. County Clerk Jamie Shew will provide a presentation about the process for moving from the current three-member board to a five-member board. After the presentation, individuals will be able to ask questions and provide comment.

Douglas County Resource Survey
Douglas County, in partnership with the United Way of Douglas County, would like to know what resources county residents would find most beneficial to their success. They are seeking community input through a community survey. The information will be used to better understand what barriers residents are facing and what resources are needed in Eudora and rural areas of Douglas County.
Interested parties may access the survey and submit their responses online by December 17.

Douglas County Climate Action Plan
The City of Lawrence and Douglas County are working together to develop a Climate Action Plan, which will identify ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce risk and vulnerability to extreme weather events.
Community members within Douglas County are encouraged to participate in a survey designed to understand how residents, organizations, and businesses are affected by climate change.
The survey and additional information about the plan may be accessed online.
