16 Days of Action

Homes for Haringey is supporting 16 Days of Action To End Gender-Based Violence, which started on 25 November. It is an opportunity to extend support to each other and remind ourselves about the important contribution we can make to our community.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign.

The past year saw the increased risk that many victims/survivors faced due to being trapped within the home with their abusers.

If you've been affected, don't suffer in silence, you can get help from our specialist domestic violence support service: Hearthstone Centre.

The global theme for this year is 'Orange the world: End violence against women now!'

Bulky item collection service

We’re committed to preventing fly-tipping in Haringey but know that some items are too large to go in the communal recycling or rubbish bins. We are able to collect these large ‘bulky waste’ items, but they must be put in the bulky waste collection store near your home.

Most large bulky items can be disposed of at no charge.

There are bulky waste collection stores for some estates and blocks, and the items are collected by Veolia. There is no limit on the number of items you can leave in the collection stores - as long as they are on the agreed list of items we can take and the store has capacity.

Check what items we can collect and where your nearest bulk waste collection store is located on our website.

Please do not leave bulky waste by the refuse bins. If there is no bulky waste collection service where you live, call Veolia on 020 8885 7700 to arrange to have your bulky waste collected. There is a £20 fee for the removal of up to four bulky items. Extra items cost £10 each.

Find more information on the bulky waste service on our website.
