RollerCon parties are hitting next level in 2022! We're working on hugely expanded theme rink skates and dance skating fun for even more opportunities to have fun on 8 wheels! Look for your favorite DJs spinning the best while you show off all the dance moves our coaches are going to lay on you... on and off the skating rink, in and out of the pool!
SKATE PARK NEWS
The 2022 RollerCon Skate Park is doubling - that's right, TWO skate parks! We're expanding, creating a learner park in the MVP classrooms, and opening up the main park for open session most of the time! The MVP Skatepark will be all classes all day long. The 187 Killer Pads Open Session Skate park will have a few demos  (so you can see some of your favorites skating), but the vast majority of the time, that skatepark will be open session in 2022!

COVID-19 Policy & Info
As of December 2021, Covid is still with us, and no one knows how things will be this summer, so it's super important that everyone understands our covid policies. Please make sure you understand and agree to our covid policy before purchasing a pass. These policies may change by July; we'll make sure they are clear. Hopefully covid will be gone and we won't need a policy! But if we do, expect all policies to be 100% enforced.

Hotel Policy
Hotel staff is 100% vaccinated. Westgate supports and enforces Nevada's indoor mask mandate, which requires that everyone, including fully vaccinated people, wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth in public indoor settings.

RollerCon Policy
Proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 status is required to attend RollerCon.  All attendees must show a CDC vaccination card or QR enabled vaccination record. Unvaccinated people must show negative COVID PCR test results taken no earlier than 48 hours or a negative rapid antigen test record from no earlier than 24 hours prior to entry to RollerCon private conference areas. Tests must have been administered by a medical provider or official testing center; home testing kits will not be accepted for entry. Photo ID and RollerCon badge must accompany presentation of test results or vaccination card. Masks are required indoors, and recommended but not required outdoors.

Enforcement
Expect the Covid policy enforcement to be like our pads and helmet policy has always been. This isn't BS. We are going to do everything we can to avoid a superspreader event, so if you have a problem with the policy, please skip this year.
While You Dream Up Outfits for Next Summer...

RollerCon Coaches At Your House?!
Get your Dirty Deb coaching fix at the DIRTY SCHOOL OF SKATE youtube channel! Dirty Deb has been coaching at RollerCon maybe as long as we've had training sessions, and she's consistently one of the highest rated teachers in our feedback polls. Her sense of humor and teaching experience combine to make her a super effective coach. But don't take our word for it; see for yourself!

MVP Pass:
This is the "all access" pass. Skate everything! MVP passes are the only passes that get you into MVP classes and training. MVPs with validated insurance get entry into all the on and off skates events, plus access to 5 days of training including roller derby, fitness, skate park, dance and more. They get to skate on every rink, track and in the skate park, and compete or watch in any competitive event they sign up for. MVPs have access to the 24-hour pool with their room key, and can go to all our private social events. There are 2500 of these passes available. When they're gone, they're gone.

Skater Pass:
This pass is for people who love to skate, but don't plan to take classes. MVP passes are not included in this pass type! The skater pass - with validated insurance - allows you to skate in the skate park, in open skate sessions and social skates, and participate in competitive events that you sign up for in advance. Skater Pass *without* validated insurance will still get you into social skates and rink and dance skating. You also get entry into all the non-skating RollerCon events, as well, including off-skates training, seminars, swap meet , vendor village and social events. The skater pass does NOT include entry into the on-skates training camp. These passes don't always sell out, but they are a lot cheaper early in the season.

Off Skates Convention Pass
If you don't plan to roller skate, this might be the pass for you. Off skates passes give you viewing access to most on-skates events - excluding on skates training. This pass gets you into the audience for competitive events, and participation access to off-skates training, classroom seminars, and all our social events. These passes are unlikely to sell out, but will cost more on site. This is the pass to get for your family or friends who want to watch you skate.

Children's Pass
We do not encourage you to bring children to RollerCon, but if you're going to, this gives your baby or child entry into many RollerCon events, including audience seating for competitive events. Children may not attend training sessions (on or off skates), or any 21+ events (which includes most of our nighttime social events). There are no skating events for juniors at RollerCon. Please note that RollerCon is a convention for adult athletes which (like the entire city of Las Vegas) frequently includes competitions and events featuring adult themes, violence, drinking, profanity and nudity. RollerCon is generally inappropriate for children. Parents who bring their children enter at their own risk and assume all responsibility and risk for their children. Children must be actively supervised at all times. For insurance and safety reasons, we do not offer free passes or free entry for children or babies of any age.

Volunteer Pass
Volunteers earn discounts and freebie versions of the same exact passes listed above, at costs cheaper than the very cheapest passes that regular non-volunteers can purchase. Their passes don't sell out when other pass types do (though they must redeem them before the deadline each year). You can earn a volunteer pass for next year by volunteering for our RollerCon Army! You cannot earn a volunteer pass for 2022 now - these passes are only available to volunteers from our last event. Find out more about volunteering at help wanted

Vendor Pass
Vendors get two or more free passes with their booth fees. If you are interested in vending at RollerCon, please join our Vendor Mailing List for more information.
2020 Refunds are Complete
Refunds are completed!
BPT notified us that covid-cancellation refunds are completed for our event as of November 4th, including passes that were rolled over from older events. If you haven't confirmed yours, please contact BPT for more info at support@brownpapertickets.com. You will get a better (and faster) reply if you send your receipt and any other info you can find to help them identify you and find your records.

Did you earn a free pass?
Well, don't worry, you still have it. All freebies and discounts rolled over, though you're going to have to be a little patient with HQ because our Best Spreadsheet Wrangler has promoted herself to Head Vampire (ie Bacon works for the Red Cross now. We miss her SO MUCH. But we're glad she got such an awesome job. [Grumble]). The records are all safe and so is your discount / freebie, which does not expire. So please do not fret about it. You'll be getting an email soon - before ticket sales open on the 12th!

Let's Talk About BPT
There were a lot of complaints about BPT refunds during the pandemic (and maybe we even grumbled a bit ourselves). But here's what you need to know about why we thought long and hard about it - and shopped around - and decided we want to continue our relationship with Brown Paper Tickets.

BPT began selling RollerCon passes in 2008, after we had a terrible time trying to do it ourselves. When BPT rolled in to rescue us, it couldn't have come at a better time. BPT was - and is - run by Seattle folks who love roller derby, so they also  ATTEND RollerCon. Because of that, they also do lots of cool things other ticket sellers don't do (like working on our Registration team and making badges on the spot). We can't hire a ticket sales company that will treat RollerCon like that. Loyalty can't be bought (or if it can, we could never afford it).

But let's talk about the pandemic and the disaster it wrought on BPT.

Almost all their events were cancelled and every single one of those had to be refunded. They even refunded the small fee they charge for handling our passes, which means they had to refund money that was probably already spent on overhead - staff salaries, rent, badges already printed, marketing, insurance; the giant pile of expenses every business has.

Other ticket sellers refused to give pandemic refunds. Their event hosts were forced to pass that FU on to their passholders, too. But BPT refunded all our passes. It took over a year - way, way longer than they estimated. But they did it AND the company survived. That's something. So we've decided to stick with them this year.

One change, however is that if you purchase and then cancel your pass, the procedure will change a bit. You will be interacting with RollerCon about it, not BPT, and your refund will also come from us - so it may not be refunded to your original payment, and it won't include a refund of processing fees. But other than that, things will be similar. And we're happy and proud to stick by BPT, and even happier and prouder that both companies - Brown Paper Tickets and RollerCon - have survived the pandemic.

Please be kind to small businesses like ours and BPT, RollerCon friends. The ones that are still kicking have been through a very, very hard time. Thanks for reading.
There were times during the pandemic when we wondered if RollerCon would ever happen again. But this video from ThisRad helped us get over those times.
FU COVID.
