2021 was not an easy one for many of us. COVID19, violence against the elderly, safety, poverty, and dozens of other issues await resolution. KCCEB is very grateful for the collective efforts coming from our colleagues and communities. Here, we want to share some updates and goals with you: 

2021년은 많은 이들에게 힘든 한 해였습니다. 코로나-19, 아시안 시니어들을 향한 폭력, 안전문제, 경제적 어려움 등 여러 이슈가 해결되기를 아직도 기다리고 있습니다. 저희 KCCEB는 힘든 상황 속에서도 함께 노력하는 동료 및 커뮤니티 분들께 깊은 감사의 말씀을 드립니다. 오늘은 저희가 2021년에 이룬 몇가지 성과와 앞으로의 계획에 관하여 알려드리고자 합니다.

Storytelling is a powerful way to gain inspiration from the experiences of others. KCCEB is taking a crucial step in 2022 to listen, collect, amplify, and transform the stories that we learn from all aspects of our community into meaningful work.

스토리텔링은 다른 이들의 경험을 통해 영감을 얻고 메시지를 전달할 수 있는 강력한 방법입니다. KCCEB는 오는 2022년에 커뮤니티의 여러 방면에서 목소리를 듣고 이야기를 모아서 커뮤니티의 가시성을 높이고 변화를 추구하려고 합니다.

Young Children Vaccination 어린이 접종:
The Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine now is available to children who are 5 years of age and older. Children 5 to 11 years old will receive a separate formulation of the vaccine with a smaller dose and needle. It is recommended that everyone including children 2 to 4 years old and unvaccinated children aged 5 or older, should wear masks in public and around people they don't live with. [CDC Info]

CDC는 최근 5세 이상 어린이에게도 화이저 백신 접종을 확장했습니다. 5-11세 어린이들에게는 낮은 용량의 백신이 성인용 보다 작은 주사바늘을 통해 투여됩니다. 또한 2세 이상의 아이들이 밖에서 활동할 때나 함께 거주하는 사람이 아닌 이들과 어울릴 때에는 마스크를 쓰는것을 권장합니다. [CDC 한국어 정보]

Korean Community Conversation on Children COVID Vaccine
5~11세 COVID-19 백신 관련 한인 지역사회 대담:
As a part of the California Department of Public Health Vaccinate All 58 and Stop the Spread COVID-19 awareness campaign, our Program Manager Art Choi co-hosted a conversation about COVID-19 Vaccinations for children ages 5-11 with Sang Moon (Vice President of Collaborative Care, KHEIR Clinic) and Dr. John Kim (President, Korean American Medical Association of Southern California). 12월9일에 KCCEB 프로그램 매니저이신 최지환 씨가 남가주 KHEIR Clinic 의 Vice President 이신 문상웅 님과 함께 남가주 한인 의사 협회장이신 존 김 박사님을 모시고 코로나-19 어린이 백신에 대한 대담을 한국어로 진행했습니다. 솔직한 질문을 보내주시고 참여해주신 분들께 감사드립니다. 이 대담은 캘리포니아 공중보건부 캠페인 “Vaccinate All 58” 의 지원을 받아 진행되었으며, 동영상은 여기에서 보실 수 있습니다. 

Vaccine Clinic 백신 접종 클리닉:
KCCEB held a vaccine clinic in partnership with Asian Health Services and gave vaccines and booster shots to over 300 people in Nov and Dec. We plan to continue vaccine clinics next year, so stay tuned.

KCCEB 는 아시안 병원과 협력하여 11월과 12월에 300명이 넘는 분들께 부스터 및 1,2차 백신을 접종했습니다! 내년에도 접종 클리닉을 계속할 예정이니 많은 관심 바랍니다. 

To vote in the 20th presidential election in the Republic of Korea, overseas absentees and voters 18 years and over have to register in advance. Last date to register is Jan 8, 2022. Voting stations will be set up at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea and KOTRA. For more information please visit HERE.

2022년도에는 제20대 대한민국 대통령선거가 실시됩니다. 만 18세이상의 한국국적을 가진 분들은 사전 유권자등록을 하셔야 미국에서도 투표에 참여하실 수 있습니다. 재외선거인 유권자 등록 마지막 날은 2022년 1월8일 입니다. 재외투표소는 샌프란시스코 총영사관과 산호세 KOTRA 에 설치됩니다. 자세한 정보는 여기에서 보실 수 있습니다.
