'Tis the season to vote for our Chapter Officers and Board Members! Our Chapter election is ongoing now through December 31, 2021. 

At the national and regional level, Officers and Boards of Directors define the organizational strategy and direction and ensure our policies, programs, and services align with our respective missions. The individuals elected represent YOU and speak as the voice of addiction medicine for MDDCSAM. Make your voice heard by casting your electronic vote TODAY.

Cast Your MDDCSAM Ballot
The Nominating Committee, chaired by Dr. Paul Katz, the Immediate Past President, has presented a slate of very qualified candidates for your consideration. Voting will open on December 1, 2021 and will close after 30 days. Elected officers will serve with incoming President John Dombrowski, M.D. President-Elect- candidate Dr. Nishant Shah
  • In the absence or disability of the President, shall exercise the powers of the President, who serves as the chief executive officer of the Society and serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors. 
  • The President-Elect shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President or Board of Directors.
Secretary- candidate Dr. Megan Buresh
  • Ensure accurate records of proceedings of Society and Board meetings
  • Preserves records, documents and correspondence
  • Give notice of elections and Society meetings
  • Ensure complete list of members entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting
Treasurer- candidate Dr. Cat Chamberlain
  • Responsible for the security of all funds and monies received by the Society.
  • Responsible for the handling, depositing and investing of Society funds as directed by the Board of Directors and defined by the Bylaws.
  • Report an accurate account of all transactions of the Treasury at the annual meeting of the Society and at each meeting of the Board of Directors.
Education and Program Committee- Dr. Darius Rastegar
  • Responsible for Society educational programs
  • Develops and implements plan to inform public and medical personnel on addiction-related issues
Public Policy Committee- candidate Dr. Joe Adams
  • Responsible for monitoring and responding to state legislative and regulatory proposals of relevance to the field, Society mission, purposes and goals
