Our GIFTY Vendors Are Making Headlines!

After an incredibly challenging few years, we are thrilled to be hosting an in-person GIFTY this weekend where you can support more than 60 local vendors. GIFTY Vendors Shawna Chana of Bloody Girl Gang and Alisia Lundie of Nekosaan Ceramics were featured on ABC7 news last night talking about the importance of GIFTY and craft fairs. 


"There's a lot of talk about supply chain and gifts, but there's a lot of local people making amazing art," remarked Alisia. "When you put that money into those artists they put it back in the community and it just helps and spread to everybody."

Before the event, head over to the Crucible website to browse our 60+ GIFTY vendors and get ready for the best holiday shopping in the Bay Area this Saturday and Sunday at The Crucible.

Proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test will be required for all those ages 12+ who wish to attend GIFTY. Regardless of vaccination status, masks must be worn inside the building at all times, unless eating or drinking in designated areas.
The year is coming to a close, but there is still time to commit to creativity before 2022 arrives. In celebration of the holiday season, all classes running now through the end of March are $25 off for GIFTY attendees! 

That's right! Visit us at GIFTY for $25 off every open class, including those running this December. Register for 3-Hour Taster: Foundry, 3-Hour Taster: Leather, and Enamel Ornaments with friends or loved ones and build a new holiday tradition. Remember, your $25 discount is only available in person at GIFTY, so make sure you come see us this weekend and save your seat!
GET CREATIVE BEFORE 2022

This week, on Giving Tuesday, we shared the inspiring story of Ashala Jones, an 18-year-old artist who found a lifeline making Ceramics during our Fuego Youth Leadership Program. Thank you to everyone who shared her story and donated in support of our mission to keep the industrial arts accessible to all. 
"When I came to the Crucible, I had to speak out more and it helped me know my worth. This experience gave me confidence. Art is a powerful thing to express how you feel. Even if you don’t want to say it, the art will tell it all."

The giving season is only beginning and every gift can have a major impact on the Crucible community. If 250 individuals make a donation—big or small—before the new year, an anonymous donor has pledged an additional $10,000!

📅  Open Bike Shop: Thursdays, 4-8pm, The Crucible. Local residents are invited to drop in with questions or for bike repair instruction.

📅 Radiance: Luminous Art From The Crucible: Open through Friday, December 31, K Gallery at Rhythmix Cultural Works

📅 GIFTY: Saturday, December 4, 11am-6pm - Sunday, December 5, 11am-4pm, The Crucible. Preview night for members and VIPs Friday, December 3, 5:30-9pm. Vendor applications are open! 

📅 West Coast Craft Market: Saturday, December 11, 11am-4pm, Fort Mason Center 

📅 Bike Fix-A-Thon: Sunday, December 12, 12-3pm, the Crucible. West Oakland residents are invited to bring their bikes to The Crucible for basic maintenance. 

📅 Crucible closed for winter holidays: Friday, December 24 - Sunday, December 2.
