Congratulations! 

After the competitive selection process, this year 27 and 14 students are awarded Tertiary Education Scholarship (TES) and Chinese Performance Scholarship (CPS) respectively. The award ceremony was held on 13 Nov and we were thrilled to have our donors and awardees together. Students will not only receive scholarships but will also join a series of activities to enhance personal growth and social participation. Thank you to our donors!!!

恭喜各位得獎同學！

今年的融樂會獎學金競爭激烈，早前終於塵埃落定，分別有27位同學獲得專上教育獎學金，14位同學獲得中文表現獎學金；而頒獎典禮亦已於十一月十三日（星期六）舉行，我們很榮幸邀請到多位贊助人參與典禮，與得獎同學們濟濟一堂。得獎同學除了能獲取獎學金外，亦將於未來參與一系列活動，提升個人能力和對社會的關懷。

The 16th Annual General Meeting of Hong Kong Unison was held on 6 Nov. 8 members were re-elected into the 2021/22 Executive Committee. Prof. Alice Chong was elected as Chair, Ms. Puja Kapai and Mr. Lai Kin Kwok as Vice Chairs. A heartfelt thank you to the 2020/21 Executive Committee members for their guidance and service.

香港融樂會於十一月六日舉行了第十六屆周年大會。 八位成員再次當選為201/22執行委員會成員。莊明蓮教授當選為主席，紀佩雅女士和賴建國先生為副主席。我們衷心感謝2020/21執行委員會的指導和服務。

In Nov, Unison was invited to share about cultural inclusion and cultural sensitivity in several institutions, including Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, HKFYG Lee Shau Kee College, and Chinese YMCA Jordan Centre, to student teachers, sociology students, secondary students, frontline social workers and volunteers respectively.  We were also invited by the Marketing Store Worldwide (TMSW) and the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) to discuss unconscious bias to their frontline staff Participants became more aware of the needs and gaps of ethnic minorities and the importance of maintaining an open mind for a racially inclusive and equitable community. 

 

在十一月，融樂會獲幾間院校及機構邀請，分享有關文化共融及文化敏感度相關議題。機構包括中文大學教育學院、都會大學、香港青年協會李兆基書院、香港中華基督教青年會佐敦會所及滙豐銀行，對象涵括未來教師、機構前線員工、學生。我們希望參與者能在講座後學到實用的與少數族裔相處技巧，培養一個開放而共融的心靈。

In the month of Nov Unison conducted 6 workshops in 3 secondary schools for forms 4, 5 and 6.  The topics were meeting people from various careers, interview skills and mock interviews, career exploration and pathways. The workshops were facilitated by 40 volunteers collectively. 

 

在九月，融樂會一共在三間中學為高中生舉辦了六次職涯工作坊。主題為「與不同職業人士會面」、「面試技巧及模擬面試」、「生涯規劃與探索」，我們共邀得四十位義工一同參與工作坊。

On 19 Nov Unison led a talk for ethnic minority parents in a secondary school. The topic was Future pathways for F6 graduates. The talk was conducted in English and Urdu. 
 
在十一月十九日，融樂會在一間中學為少數族裔家長舉辦講座，題為中六生的未來生涯。講座以英語及烏爾都語進行。

Unison’s Executive Director, Ms.Phyllis Cheung, was invited to be the moderator at the “Inclusive Education” session at the TZF Conference on 9 Nov where panelists discussed about the discrimination faced and the lack of sensitivities towards ethnic minority staff and students in local schools and how an international school promoted racial inclusion and celebrates racial diversity.  

十一月九日，融樂會總幹事張鳳美女士獲邀擔任小彬紀念基金會會議的「共融教育」環節的主持。席上，嘉賓討論了少數族裔員工及學生在本地學校遭遇的歧視及欠缺敏感度的舉措，又談論了國際學校應如何推廣種族共融及多元。
