Counting our Blessings

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I Thessalonians 5:18

As we enter a season dedicated specifically to being thankful, I want to start by saying how thankful we are for you!  As we've journeyed this year, it has been a comfort to know that people are praying and laboring with us!  God has answered those prayers again and again and used you in a mighty way to be a blessing to us!

It would certainly take more than this letter to count the many blessings the Lord has given, but I do want to praise Him for some wonderful meetings over the past weeks.

On the first Sunday of November we sang and preached at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Helena, AL.  Pastor Bowman chose this Sunday for Revival Sunday, and the Lord met with us!  We were thankful to see friends that both Bethany and I knew faithfully serving the Lord.  The Lord gave us a good day in His house, and we are excited to see what the Lord will continue to do in this growing church.

The next day we journeyed to Troy, Ohio, to participate in a Missions Emphasis Week at Calvary Baptist Church.  We were privileged to present our ministry and listen to some soul-stirring preaching from Bro. John O'Malley.  We were later informed that the church voted to take us on for monthly support!  Praise the Lord!  This will be a huge blessing to us in the days ahead.

After rushing home from Ohio, we were able to help our home church, New Life Baptist Church in Odenville, AL, with a busy weekend of ministry.  On Saturday we gave out boxes with Thanksgiving foods  in them to about 200 families.  A gospel tract went out with each of the boxes.  The next day was our church's Thanksgiving Festival, and I  was able to present the gospel to the many visitors that attended.  During the two days, the gospel literally went out to hundreds.  We know that His Word does not return void and are excited to see how the Lord will use those efforts!

On November 18-21, we were privileged to be with the folks at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Hermitage, PA.  Pastor Watson invited me to speak on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday for their special Thanksgiving day.  I was also able to help in their Christmas parade outreach on Saturday.  It was so exciting to see over 35 people from the church work together to pass out around 3,000 packets with gospel literature, church information, and cotton candy!  The Lord gave us a great time with these sweet people.  We are excited to be back with them in August for a week of camp!
