🚩 Something Important You Should Know

In conjunction with several other metro counties, Denver has enacted a strict “mask or vax mandate” for all public indoor settings. This means that masks will be required indoors starting today unless a given business secures an exemption from the health department allowing them to require proof of vaccination instead.

🥂 Some Ways To Welcome The Holidays

Here is a list of “turkey trot”-style 5Ks happening across the metro area this Thanksgiving for those of you who like to  show off, I mean, earn your mashed potatoes and pie. Plus, there are about a million Christmas lighting events to kick off the weekend for those of you who prefer to skip the turkey all together and get right into figgy pudding season.

👉 Don’t forget: Hanukkah starts Sunday! And the Jewish Community Center of Denver has a calendar chock full of celebratory events.

🦃 Something To Eat For Turkey Day

In case you missed it: last week, we highlighted some Denver restaurants that will be open for dining tomorrow and serving Thanksgiving dinner almost as good as ma’s. We also highlighted some local chefs offering Turkey Day dinners to-go if you really want to impress the in-laws with “your” kitchen skills.

👉 How you can donate time and food: A turkey dinner is especially expensive this year, and food banks are struggling to keep up with the needs of local families that could use a hand. But there are ways you can help…

✈️ Something To Do If You’re Stuck At The Airport

Flying somewhere this holiday season? We hope you have a nice neck pillow because travel is hot again and DIA is busy. The Denver Post has some tips that will hopefully expedite the journey from passenger drop-off to your plane seat, including where to find real-time security waits, which days are expected to be busiest, and how to navigate ongoing construction.

👉 Bonus: If you’re like me and plan to arrive three hours early anyways, Denverite suggests doing a little self-guided airport art tour

🎂 Something To Celebrate

Denver’s birthday! On Tuesday this week, our beloved Mile High City turned 163 years young. “On November 22, 1858, a band of rough-and-tumble gold-seekers founded the Denver City Town Company,” 5280 reporter Fiona Murphy writes. And to honor the anniversary, 5280 spoke with local cartoonist Karl Christian Krumpholz who has spent the last decade trying to capture the ever-changing character of our city.
