BCA Community News Update 25 November 2021

Defibrillators (AED) demonstration

Saturday 27 November
Supper Room (rear of Hall)
9am and 10am

In 2022 the Bundanoon Community Association will be running sessions on how to use the two public defibrillators (AEDs). We have a manikin and a training AED of the same make. If you would like to get a sneak preview we are running two "shakedown" sessions on Saturday 27th at 9am and 10am. They are free and there is a limit of eight per session. Our aim is to reduce bystander hesitation in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.

Please book using the attached link. Wear clothes suitable for exercise as chest compressions are physical.

Christmas Cheer

Soldiers' Memorial Hall
Saturday 18th December

We have two special events to celebrate the end of 2021 and the promise of 2022. We notified in the last newsletter this would be 11 December but have put the event back a week to help with planning and also combined the evening to a single event. It is also a much simpler COVID-19 plan.

Thanks to a grant from Wingecarribee Council we are putting on a kids Christmas movie and in the early evening inviting all Bundanoon residents to join us in the Hall for drinks and finger food. Details of the events are below along with booking details. Please book early to help us with catering numbers.
Kids Matinee - Arthur Christmas
Saturday 18 December
Soldiers' Memorial Hall
Free
2pm to 4pm

Children will love Arthur Christmas! Selected and presented by Rex Cinema it is a recent Australian release.

"When Santa's gawky son Arthur learns that owing to a technical glitch a little girl's Christmas gift has been misplaced, he sets out on a mission to deliver the present before it is too late."

At present the COVID-19 restrictions are masks are required for everyone over 12 unless eating or drinking. We will be supplying cakes, pastries and kiddie favorites. We are limited to 100 people

Evening Get Together
Saturday 18 December
Soldiers' Memorial Hall
6:30pm to 9:00pm

From 6:30pm to 9:00 please drop in to the Hall to share some Christmas/End of Year cheer. This event is for Bundanoon residents and friends as well as Southern Villages. We will provide a beautifully decorated Hall along with finger food throughout the evening. We are using our local shops for catering as much as we can. Please BYO alcohol. We will provide glasses. It is chance to catch up as we come out of the (necessary) restrictions of 2021.

We are also hoping for some "flash mob" entertainment on the street during the evening.

We are limited to 100 people in the Hall at one time. If our bookings exceed 100, with your help, we will manage the capacity throughout the evening.

BCA Gift Shop

Don't forget the online gift shop where you can buy Wildlife gift cards and Bundanoon on Tap Water Bottles.

The gift cards are six images from the Wildlife Calendar with cultural notes on the inside left, the inside right is blank for greetings. This is a limited print run but can be reprinted if needed. The cost is $3 per card or the set of six for $15. Quality envelopes included. After ordering they can be picked up, or posted out (with postage calculated at checkout).

We also have the Bundanoon on Tap water bottle with a special bonus of the original "Bundy on Tap"  Camelbak bottles. These were returned from the "Ecologic" display at the Powerhouse which retired after almost ten years. For $25 you get both bottles. Order online for local pickup only.

Of course, all the proceeds go to assisting the BCA in its community activities. Thanks to Sonja Bowden for the beautiful artwork and Lyndell Giuliano for the notes for the cards.

The shop is here: https://bundanoon-community-association-inc.square.site/
