Sisters Winter

Sisters Cleansing no 2
photo: I diana lindhardt

Like thin silk threads falling from the sky
Slow everything down and soften all the sounds
My body relax and my soul find back to a natural rhythm
A feeling of coming back home, feeling safe
Helps my body to rest for long inside my own cocoon
I stay until the light return and things start to grow again, without me doing anything else
 than wait…………………..

Her Porcelain Spirit – Sister of Silk

Sisters Hope Home is on

In October we opened Sisters Hope Home, a 5-year-durational artwork and platform for artistic research. Over the coming years we will manifest this home dedicated to poetic and sensuous modes of being and being together. The project originated from a longing for a venue where we could unfold our performative experiments and works in deeper and more refined versions.

Art & Ecology

Our Artistic Director, Gry Worre Hallberg, was presenting at the webinar The role of art in society - artistic quality on sustainable terms organized by the Danish Arts Foundation. At the webinar she elaborated on our current artistic practice and research which is rooted in an exploration on how inhabitation of the sensuous and poetic relates to the understanding of the ecological connectedness of everything.

Visiting Artists/Researchers/Activists at Sisters Hope Home

We have selected the first group of visiting artists/researchers/activists that will inhabit Sisters Hope Home in the coming months. At Sisters Hope Home they will unfold their own practice, research, and general explorations within the framework of the 5-year-durational artwork. Countries such as Colombia, Bulgaria, England, Germany, Sweden and Denmark are represented and we look very much forward to host these residencies unfolding the sensuous and poetic in various ways.

The next open call for visitings will be released in the spring of 2022.

Tribute by The Asteroid:
Roadside Picknick by the Strugatsky Brothers

Ursula Le Guin says is all in her foreword to the book:

"Roadside Picnic is a "first contact" story with a difference. Aliens have visited the earth and gone away again, leaving behind them several landing areas (now called The Zones) littered with their refuse. The picnickers have gone; the packrats, wary but curious, approach the crumpled bits of cellophane, the glittering fliptops from beercans, and try to carry them home to their holes.

The implied picture of humanity is not flattering. In the traditional first contact story, communication is achieved by courageous and dedicated spacemen, and an exchange of knowledge, or a military triumph, or a big-business deal ensues. Here the aliens were utterly indifferent to us if they noticed our existence at all; there has been no communication, there can be no understanding; we are scarcely even savages or packrats — we are just garbage."
