RISING HIGHER TOGETHER

Rise Up Leader Nsini Udonta speaking during our virtual Breakfast Gala — together we raised over $300,000 to support leaders like Nsini.

At our Breakfast Gala this month, we welcomed our global community of friends, partners, and supporters for a powerful virtual celebration of Rise Up's visionary leaders. In addition to hearing from award-winning actress and activist Jane Fonda, five Rise Up Leaders shared stories of how they are advancing gender equity in their own communities:

With your support, we surpassed our fundraising goal, raising over $300,000 to advance the work of Rise Up Leaders and together, committing to deepening our roots and rising higher for girls and women. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us!

In case you missed any of our speakers, you can watch their remarks in full here.

CELEBRATING GENEROSITY

Rise Up Leader Maritza Martinez, one of our inspiring Breakfast Gala speakers, is the Executive Director of Somos Familia, a California-based organization working to build leadership in Latinx families and communities to create a culture where people of diverse genders and sexual orientations can thrive. For Maritza, learning about advocacy through Rise Up’s trainings has been essential for her organization and the Latinx families it supports:

"Learning about how advocacy works through Rise Up has been transformational for us and is something that we are taking to the families that we support so that they are able to really know how to effect change not only in schools and communities but hopefully in the future in a more systemic way."

As we celebrate generosity on this GivingTuesday, we invite you to join this global day of giving by supporting Rise Up Leaders like Maritza, who are building a more just and equitable world.
